Biography

Graduating from the University of Sydney in 1999 with both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Dr Brian Chua commenced his junior medical officer appointment at Royal North Shore Hospital before being accepted in the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmology training course.
As a registrar Dr Chua was heavily involved in the Blue Mountains Eye Study as both the study coordinator and a clinical examiner based out of the Centre for Vision Research within Westmead Hospital. Completing his ophthalmic training within the Sydney Eye Hospital, Dr Chua undertook a further fellowship to sub-specialise in glaucoma, at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne before returning to Sydney to continue his clinical and research commitments.

Dr Chua has presented at numerous scientific congresses and has authored over dozen articles published in peer reviewed journals. He is also on the medical resuscitation team as a volunteer Dr for the annual City to Surf fun run !
